Dyslexia is a specific learning difficulty (SpLD) that mainly affects reading and writing skills. It can also affect other areas such as working memory and concentration. Struggling in school and at work due to undiagnosed dyslexia can impact on self-esteem and self-confidence.
A diagnostic SpLD assessment aims to investigate and report on an individual’s areas of challenge and also to highlight their strengths. The resultant report will also suggest tailored strategies and tools to address and overcome difficulties.
Current research suggests that SpLDs such as dyslexia and dyspraxia can often occur alongside each other.
